Evolution of a Painting Contractor
Jim Kaloutas and his father, John, together opened the Peabody branch of Kaloutas when Jim was just 19. While his father, a veteran painter, spent his time painting, Jim went back and forth between the office and the field, learning the ropes of business management as the company grew.
Jim’s leadership matured along with the company, and in the early nineties the company shifted from residential painting into the commercial field. As the company made this shift, however, there was one aspect Jim refused to change: a strong focus on people and relationships. His business model is built on creating trust and long-term relationships with employees, general contractors, vendors and suppliers.
While the economy has gone up and down many times since 1987 when the business was started, Kaloutas has responded with creativity, innovation and determination. Jim believes in constant improvement and the company continues to evolve and improve.
Kaloutas is now a multi-million dollar business, building a solid reputation by delivering the service and the results customers want. With a highly effective office staff and over 80 field personnel, Kaloutas has the infrastructure and workforce to handle even the biggest commercial painting projects. Now with branches in Bedford, NH and Providence, RI, Kaloutas services Northern and Southern New England.
