Commercial Painting in Ipswich - Bringing New Color to a Unique Poolside Project

Posted on Monday, June 20, 2016

We were recently asked to paint the interior and exterior a newly-added, poolside section of a youth and family center in Ipswich.

Our work didn’t stop there, though…

Just in time for summer, we also painted a very fun aspect of the pool. The process called for special considerations (we’ll dig more into this below), but we know the kids will be thrilled.

Starting Indoors - A Closer Look at Our Interior Painting Work

As you can see in the photos above, we brought a few vibrant, fresh colors to the addition. We chose Sherwin-Williams’ ProMar 200 for the task, offering not only a fantastic finish but also the benefit of being a fume-free, zero-VOC paint.

For the doors and frames we used a DTM (Direct-to-Metal) paint, also from Sherwin-Williams.

Diving Into the Process of Painting a Water Spinner

Our exterior work involved filling holes in the siding, then prepping and painting all the surfaces. We chose Sherwin-Williams’ Super Paint for this portion of our work. Doesn’t the white trim look fantastic too against the primary body color?

The highlight of this project, however, was painting the Project Adventure water spinner over the pool. Not only did we apply fun, intricate colors, but we also chose a glossy, high performance, high-solids polyurethane coating. This will protect the surface from moisture and the summer sun, and, most importantly, it promotes the all-important fun factor.

Because painting over a pool isn’t exactly a straightforward process, we used our lift to help us stay dry, contain our work, and cover all those hard to reach places.
