Sev­en years ago we installed a Hybri-Flex MQ floor coat­ing sys­tem from Dur-a-Flex in the col­li­sion cen­ter of a car deal­er­ship in Haver­hill, MA. This is an impact-resis­tant, effec­tive option for any envi­ron­ment that expe­ri­ences a lot of wear and tear!

Now, sev­en years lat­er, the floor­ing in the col­li­sion cen­ter is still doing its job. The con­crete through­out the rest of the deal­er­ship, how­ev­er, coat­ed with a tra­di­tion­al epoxy coat­ing, expe­ri­enced delam­i­na­tion because of trapped mois­ture in the slab.

So, we returned, this time ready to coat the remain­ing 21,750 square-feet of concrete.

Our Floor­ing Process

Our goal is not only to pro­vide a qual­i­ty prod­uct and ser­vice, but also to keep out of the way of your oper­a­tions while we work! Espe­cial­ly in com­mer­cial and indus­tri­al envi­ron­ments, your abil­i­ty to keep things rolling smooth­ly is imper­a­tive, and we respect that!

Because of this, we worked over three week­ends for this deal­er­ship rather than through their busy work-week, allow­ing them to be ready for nor­mal activ­i­ty every Mon­day morning.

After remov­ing the fail­ing floor, we prepped the sur­face and got to work installing the four-step, ¼” high per­for­mance sys­tem from Dur-a-Flex. We even were able to cus­tom-blend the dec­o­ra­tive aggre­gate to match anoth­er area of the facil­i­ty, and then include a dif­fer­ent cus­tom col­or for the ser­vice areas. That’s the beau­ty of a sys­tem like this! It will stand up to any abuse that it needs to, but that doesn’t mean it needs to be unat­trac­tive.
