Dust-Free Shot Blasting

Prop­er sur­face prepa­ra­tion is the most impor­tant fac­tor in the suc­cess of any resinous floor­ing or coat­ing sys­tem appli­ca­tion. We take the utmost care to insure that all the nec­es­sary steps in prepa­ra­tion are accomplished.

Mechan­i­cal prep is the pre­ferred method of sur­face prepa­ra­tion. Shot blast­ing or dia­mond grind­ing removes all sur­face lai­tance and con­t­a­m­i­na­tions. It also opens the sur­face of the con­crete allow­ing for deep­er pen­e­tra­tion of the primer cre­at­ing a supe­ri­or bond. Unlike alter­na­tive sur­face prepa­ra­tion meth­ods, mechan­i­cal prep does not intro­duce mois­ture into the con­crete. The sur­face pro­file gen­er­at­ed with shot-blast­ing/­di­a­mond grind­ing pro­duces a high­er bond strength ini­tial­ly and lat­er allows recoat­ing with­out fur­ther con­crete sur­face prepa­ra­tion. We rec­om­mend aggres­sive shot-blast­ing for all resur­fac­ing systems.
