We recent­ly were asked by a large food pack­ag­ing man­u­fac­tur­er in West Bridge­wa­ter, MA, to pol­ish the con­crete floors through­out their 187,000 sq ft facil­i­ty. The job was real­ly bro­ken into two parts: the first involved 72,000 sq ft, and for the sec­ond we dealt with the remain­ing 115,000.

We began with the first por­tion by grind­ing down the old slab, pro­vid­ing cos­met­ic con­crete repairs, then we saw-cut and filled the con­trol joints and expan­sion joints. Hav­ing made sure that the sur­face was sol­id and sound, we pol­ished it to a high gloss.

The remain­ing 115,000 sq ft of floor­ing need­ed to com­ply with the require­ments man­dat­ed for food pro­duc­tion facil­i­ties. We were able to meet these guide­lines using spe­cial­ized equip­ment out­fit­ted with HEPA fil­ters. We also used fast-cure joint fill­ing and repair mate­ri­als from Met­zger and McGuire, allow­ing us to fin­ish the work quick­ly and with­out hin­der­ing the facility’s dai­ly operations!
