Commercial Flooring Pros With Extensive Product Knowledge
When it comes to commercial flooring solutions, it’s common to get confused on the differences between epoxy and urethane coatings. This is why we ensure that every member of our Commercial Flooring crew is trained in helping you understand the pros and cons of all your flooring options so you are left feeling confident and informed about your decision.
The Difference Between Epoxy & Urethane Flooring
Epoxy Vs. Urethane: Pros and Cons
Here at Kaloutas, both our urethane and concrete epoxy coatings are done in a two-part process, which is far superior to air cured flooring options. Installing the coating in two steps means that the chemical reaction caused by mixing the resin in two steps will cause stronger adhesion and durability.
Epoxy flooring is more durable and can hold up to high compression worksites, making it the best choice for heavy duty industrial facilities which use fork lifts. Urethane on the other hand is more scratch resistant and elastic, making it the ideal choice for freezer chambers and waterproof car parking structures.
Both flooring surfaces react differently to certain chemicals as well, urethane is often the best choice for the foodservice industry while epoxy holds up better to heavy chemical use.
