We recent­ly were asked to paint both the inte­ri­or and exte­ri­or of a 260,000 square-foot ware­house in Cum­ber­land, RI, and its 93,000 square-foot addi­tion as well. Because of our large num­ber of field per­son­nel (we have over 80), we can tack­le com­mer­cial paint­ing jobs of this size eas­i­ly and efficiently.

Fresh Col­ors for a Com­mer­cial Environment

A lot of peo­ple mis­tak­en­ly think that paint is for aes­thet­ics only (although who doesn’t like a bright, fresh, main­tained envi­ron­ment?). In real­i­ty, the paint in your ware­house serves a vital pur­pose as a bar­ri­er, pro­vid­ing a buffer of pro­tec­tion between exposed sur­faces and the exte­ri­or ele­ments that work against them ²⁴⁄₇. The ele­ments might be weath­er relat­ed or, espe­cial­ly in com­mer­cial and indus­tri­al set­tings, could be due to the envi­ron­ment (fumes, chem­i­cals, spills, wear and tear, etc…). Because of this, it’s impor­tant that not just any paint is used for your project, but the right kind that will work the longest and hard­est for you.

For this par­tic­u­lar ware­house, we used the following:

• Sher­win Williams Sher-cryl on the exte­ri­or, includ­ing Regal Blue and Impe­r­i­al White for the pre­cast concrete

• SW WB Dry­fall Flat in White for the exposed ceilings

• SW Pro­Mar 200, Eggshell, for the inte­ri­or, pre­cast con­crete walls

• SW DTM Semi-gloss, Regal Blue, on all inte­ri­or columns, doors and frames

• SW Indus­tri­al Enam­el, Safe­ty Yel­low, on the gas pipe. This bright col­or is ide­al for vis­i­bil­i­ty and safety!

You may have noticed that we used dry­fall paint. In case you haven’t heard of it, dry­fall is an ide­al prod­uct to use for paint­ing ceil­ings espe­cial­ly. It includes an agent that allows it to dry incred­i­bly fast, so that any excess residue that might escape dur­ing the spray­ing process dries instan­ta­neous­ly and is able to be cleaned up eas­i­ly and quickly.
