What Is a Plat­inum S.T.E.P. Safe­ty Award, and How Did We Earn It?

Every year, ABC (Asso­ci­at­ed Builders and Con­trac­tors of Mass­a­chu­setts) and the GCI (Gould Con­struc­tion Insti­tute, ABC’s train­ing affil­i­ate) host the S.T.E.P. awards. This event is ded­i­cat­ed to hon­or­ing local con­trac­tors who have shown the most ded­i­ca­tion to work­place safe­ty. The win­ners are deter­mined by an analy­sis of such fac­tors as:

• Inci­dent rates
• Lost time
• OSHA record­ables
• Safe­ty audit con­sist­ing of twen­ty key components
• Excep­tion­al safe­ty records

Over 60 local com­pa­nies were in the run­ning for the award (and we com­mend them!), but we are proud to say that our team took the Plat­inum S.T.E.P. Safe­ty Award home. It is a com­bined effort, and we would like to thank every mem­ber of the Kaloutas fam­i­ly for their own, per­son­al ded­i­ca­tion to main­tain­ing our standards.
